Khomotjo Mphahlele

Khomotjo Mphahlele, Senior Marine Training Facilitator/Marine Training Manager(Acting) at Transnet National Ports Authority, with extensive sea going experience as an Senior Training and Navigation Officer on vessels such as research ships, diamond mining ships, bulk carriers, petroleum product tankers and South Africa’s designated training ship.

Her passion for the industry and skills development saw her founding a Non-Profit Organization that mentors, coaches, prepare and induct young people for rural communities into maritime careers. She strongly believes that there are Oceans of opportunities in the maritime sector and that the sea belongs to anyone who loves her.

Ms. Mphahlele is also an accomplished and award winner of the Best Skills Contributor for the 2016 The Women in Transport awards which is a collaborative platform dedicated to recognizing excellence within the rail and maritime industry in Africa.

She is also a member of the South Africa Maritime Professionals Association as well as Society of Master Mariner South Africa.
